Criminals will buy these guns illegally. I believe law obeying citizens should be able to own and use these firearms to defend their family and property against these gangsters..

There are laws already in place that restrict enough of our liberties. I do not believe we need another!

Only if used in commission of a crime.

There are already too many Gun Laws in GA.

Chicago should be a lesson to all gov. entities considering gun control. Stricter gun laws do not stop gun violence. Perhaps Rep. Oliver should concentrate on education instead of gun control. VOTE NO!

I oppose any and all attacks on our 2nd Amendment Rights! I proudly support Constitutional Carry because the government has no right to fine or regulate OUR 2nd Amendment and this is just another attempt to take away our rights! Additionally, a Republican controlled Dome should never allow this Liberal Bill to see the light of hope!

What ever happened to Constitutional Carry??

“Unconstitutional!!! It goes against the 2nd amendment and disregards the very reason for its existence.”

Politician need to keep out of our Constitutional rights.

I believe in the documents that our forefathers forged the foundation of our nation upon. Their thoughts were far-sighted and based on a sound tomorrow. Today’s representatives cannot see beyond their noses and lack the ability and sound judgement of our founders; period.

The list of reason are to long to list here. For starters a firearms is an implement and is used lawfully by thousand if not millions. People kill people not implements. What next, want to prohibit knives, hammers, trucks, box cutters, baseball bats, axes, every substance that homemade explosives or poisons can be made of?

In NO WAY!

“The legislature may not restrict a basic human right. Georgia need to pass constitutional carry”

“What part of “”Shall not be infringed upon”” don’t you understand?
The S, the H, the A, the L, or the L. Maybe it’s the N O T.”

“The bill is un-Constitutional on it’s face. Article 1 Section 1 of the Georgia Constitution does NOT give the Legislature the right to decide which or what guns Georgians can have only the manor in which arms may be born – and even THAT is further restricted by the Federal Constitution.

Paragraph VIII. Arms, right to keep and bear. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, but the General Assembly shall have power to prescribe the manner in which arms may be borne.

Come on folks, we are NOT that stupid are we?”

If the criminals can get these items , then we should have access to them so WE THE PEOPLE can protect our selves from these criminals

“Guns don’t kill people any more than pencils misspell words. Keep your hands off of our guns, accessories, and ammo – PERIOD!!!!!!!

It is none of the Governments,or Georgia Law Makers Business what kind of gun me or anyone else purchases. If these people would worry about things they should be doing and stay out of the peoples business that pay them! Come election time lots in our local and state Government will e looking for another job! Pass Constitutional Carry and pass something that would benefit all Georgians!

no matter what the laws are evil people will still have them,,good people who have them have no intentions of causing a problem,, it is just a way for American’s to be blocked of having equal force against the criminal, i am against any restrictions,,sound odd i guess coming from a 30 yer vet of Law enforcement retiring as Asst,Chief of a dept,, armed citizens have saved my life before, American’s should be able to defend themselves and never be out gunned by evil doers !!!!!!

A Federal right the state do not get to limit. We the people are the final guards of our rights and the government needs to be afraid of the people.

Crimes should be punishable by law; however, guns actually SAVE LIVES and responsible gun owners have Constitutional rights to chose the type(s) of weapon(s) they own and use responsibly.

Democrats do everything possible to over-ride our rights and transform our government to get the world they want us – not them – to live in at our -not their – expense.

This HB 10 is in violation of our Second Amendment. Only the law-abiding citizen would obey it, being restricted in protecting himself while the lawless would continue to misuse the power of protection for less worthy causes such as robberies, threats and homicidal acts.

It is not constitutional to pass.

The constitution of the United States gives me the right to bear arms, and this shall not be infringed. I will chose the weapons if my choice to protect myself from my own government.

Certain cars are more dangerous than others, this is a “divergent” waste of time and effort. Let’s turn our attention to fiscal inequities, not as flashy, but much more deadly.

“This bill would be too dangerous in the hands of the wrong people to determine which type of gun or ammunition is deemed “”Dangerous””.
I cannot support any legislation that restricts the Second Amendment of the Constitution Bill of Rights.”

none of this makes a citizen safer it just takes away his constitutional rights i object to these laws.

“It takes Constitutional rights away, period!
It would take the rights away from the family from being able to defend themselves again enemies of the state or country.”

Our right to bear arms should not be “qualified.” Is this Bill going to restrict policemen and other law enforcement personnel from owning and using these weapons on criminals? It doesn’t matter what “law” is passed restricting certain weapons and ammunition. Criminals are going to have access and ownership of such weapons, anyway. Haven’t you noticed?…criminals do not respect our laws.

HB 10 is wrong and should not pass. This type of added abusive restriction would open a “Pandora’s Box” for future legislative abuse of the public’s 2nd Amendment rights. Again, it’s irresponsible to legislate against honest citizens who have the right to protect themselves and family and properties.

“Democrats used a similar bill in California to outlaw 50 caliber rounds and guns. Republicans went along with this to create “”reasonable and sensible”” gun laws. After all, why does anyone NEED a 50 cal??

We must watch this bill and maintain pressure on our Republican Legislators to make sure that they do NOT make any compromise with the Democrats to seem “”REASONABLE””. The Constitution is not negotiable!!”

No more laws are needed.

Liberal gun grab.

We are not to restrict ownership by law abiding citizens. If there is misuse, then action should then be taken.

This bill is just another attempt by liberals to take away our 2nd amendment right. It’s just another attempt the Left to chip away at Georgians fundamental rights…

It is NOT the governments job (any government, local, state or federal) to tell us what we can own.

Absolutely not! There should be no restriction on our 2nd Amendment rights. This bill is going nowhere in this state. If leftists could get this restriction passed, another would be right behind it with more restrictions, until we would be totally disarmed. Leave our rights alone.

NO, when are our representatives going to start following the Constitution!

There is no evidence to suggest that this legislation would prevent the violent crime in Georgia. Moreover, the GA Assembly cannot dispose of Georgians U.S. Constitutionally guaranteed civil liberties which are inalienable. I suggest the proponent of this bill work with her represented community to address violent crime via social not lawful means which is the root of the problem especially for those she represents and certainly not for the majority if Georgians.

The item is not the crime. Prohibit and/or punish the person that uses it/them in the commission of a crime!

Do have to continue to have gun legislation despite the 2nd Amendment? Look a Chicago.

“This addresses expensive firearms and ammunition mostly. Criminals will only use the cheapest weapons and ammo they can get.

Please reconcile this with statistics of the type of equipment mentioned in this bill with actual crimes.”

No guns or bullets should be restricted.

No guns or bullets should be restricted.

your assault weapon may not be mine……….

The Constitution clearly says “shall not infringe”, not “may infringe under certain circumstances”. This proposed bill is clearly an infringement and unconstitutional.

Read the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. Enough said.

A person has the right to defend himself by whatever means he chooses.
